Association of leptin and adiponectin to CHD risk

A study of the association of leptin, adiponectin and the leptin-to-adiponectin ratio, with CHD risk was recently published by Karakas et al. (Atherosclerosis, epub ahead of print Aug 2009). In this population-based case-cohort study within the MONICA/KORA Augsburg studies, no clinically relevant association of leptin or adiponectin levels or the ratio of leptin-to-adiponectin with the incidence of CHD was found.
